~Option One~
Potions Ethics

Welcome to your NEWT year of Potions!

For this task, you’ll need to research the ethics of Potions as a subject.
Now Potions has a variety of ethical grey areas. A few examples include use of certain potions on criminals, testing potions on animals, and the sourcing of ingredients for use in various potions. You will choose a topic, such as the ones listed or any other ethical issue you can think of that is part of the Potions making or usage process, and research it in depth. You will need to provide a list of any sources you use, if there are sources available, and present your findings and conclusions to me. Be sure to research as much as you can before you complete your paper, I'd love to see what you were able to find! You can choose any topic, whether there is any specific information available or not, and reach a conclusion based on research. You can even reach out to fellow mHers to gather their opinion! Your research does not have to be limited to the ethics of your topic, however, but can cover any aspect of the topic that will lead you to a conclusion about the ethics behind it.
Your paper should include:
~ What subject you chose and why.

~ Whether you would consider it ethical or not, and why. Or whether there are situations where it could be ethical, and situations where it would not be ethical.

~ The known history of the topic. (For example, is it common? Was it more common in the past and now it is far less common or less accepted?)
~ Any additional information that you need to reach your conclusion(s)
