~Option One~
Antidote to Common Poisons
&
Antidote to Uncommon Poisons

Welcome to another year of Potions!

Today we’ll be covering the Antidote to Common Poisons and the Antidote to Uncommon Poisons. The Antidote to Uncommon Poisons has a few known ingredients:
Fire Seeds, Powdered Graphorn Horn, Billywig Stings, and Chizpurfle Carapaces.
Unfortunately, we do not have any known instructions as to how to brew this potion. Which introduces some interesting possibilities into how it is brewed! On the other hand, the Antidote to Common Poisons is well known. One of its ingredients, the Bezoar, is even an antidote to many poisons itself! This potion requires a mortar and pestle, your standard cauldron, your wand, and the following ingredients:
1 Bezoar, 2 Measures of Standard Ingredient, 1 Pinch of Unicorn Horn, and 2 Mistletoe Berries.
It, like some potions, requires you to leave it to brew for a time before you can complete it. The instructions even include notes on the time differences if you’re using a different cauldron! In your case, you’ll be using the Pewter cauldron, but once you’ve gained more experience you could try brewing this potion in a brass or copper cauldron as well! The Equipment we use can change the brewing process, as this potion clearly shows, which is why it is always important to pay attention to what equipment you have available and what equipment you feel the most comfortable using. Now on to your assignment!

Homework

1. Consider both potions. When would you use the Antidote to Uncommon Poisons? Could it also be used for Common Poisons? Why or why not?
2. Choose 1 of the options below:
Option A: Try to brew The Antidote to Common Poisons. Tell me how it went and set aside a vial for grading.

Option B: Create a poster showing the differences between the two. Showcase the different ingredients used, different colors the potions become, etc. Get creative and have fun!
